Norwood re-structures its Board of Trustees
Norwood this week announced a new structure for its Board of Trustees, which is responsible for key decision making across the £25m-a-year organisation.
This is one of a number of key developments at Norwood following its re-brand in April of this year which identified five clear service divisions operating under the umbrella of Norwood - 'Children & Families First'.
Under the new structure for the Board of Trustees, John Libson remains Chairman of Norwood working closely with Norma Brier, Chief Executive whilst Michael Teacher continues as Deputy Chair. They are supported by David Ereira & Ronnie Harris in newly introduced roles as Vice Chairs of Norwood. Additional seats have been created for Roni Goldberg (Chair of Services), Alfred Garfield (Chair of Business Development) and Gordon Fox (Health and Safety) whilst Russell Tenzer remains Treasurer.
The focus of change is to decentralise responsibility for the day-to-day operational decisions from the Board of Trustees to a small number of newly established committees. These are chaired by lay-leaders who bring with them their professional expertise to support Norwood in a lay capacity. They will work closely with their professional colleagues at Norwood to provide the very highest level of advice and support to the organisation in all areas of its work.
John Libson explains: "By re-structuring our Executive Board, we've de-centralised parts of the decision making process within Norwood giving more power to the committees chaired by lay-leaders with professional expertise corresponding to their areas of responsibility. This will ensure that the organisation continues to offer first class services to community, more quickly and efficiently than ever before - it will allow us to drive Norwood forward and capitalise on the opportunities to mobilise the organisation following its re-brand earlier this year."
