Clubbing together for Norwood

Clubbing together for Norwood

It was a tee party - and breakfast lunch and supper - for 20 intrepid fundraisers who took to the golf courses on Thursday 19 June 2003, to raise £70,000 for Norwood.

Teeing off at the unearthy hour of 4am, the participants played 17 hours of non-stop golf on 90 holes over five courses - Abridge, Finchley, Hartsbourne, Dyrham and Potters Bar. This was the ninth annual Golf Aid tournament in aid of Norwood, and in that time nearly £1m has been raised.

Jane Jaffe, Head of Community Donations at Norwood commented: "Yet again, Golf Aid turned out to be a fantastic day. It's remarkable to see golfers of all ages and abilities still smiling after 17 exhausting hours on the greens - they must really love the game! As ever, we thank them for their fantastic support! Next year, the tenth year of Golf Aid promises to be spectacular, and a real year of glory."
