An estimated 140 cyclists will take on the terrains of east Africa in aid of Norwood during its international bike ride in Kenya in October. The ride will begin at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro and finish in Mombasa by the clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Riders will cycle through national parks, breathtaking scenery and get up close and personal with the local wildlife, while navigating the challenging mountainous hills and vast flat lands.

A kind-hearted schoolgirl who organised a swimathon in aid of Norwood has raised an amazing £9,000 for the Charity. Candice Tucker, 11, from St John’s Wood, invited 52 of her friends to take part in the fundraising event, which was kindly hosted by Francis Holland School in Clarence Gate. All the money raised at the swimathon, held on Sunday, 16 May, will help Norwood to continue providing a range of life-changing services for people with learning disabilities and children and families in need.

More than 1,500 cyclists set their wheels in motion to raise an estimated £250,000 for five charities, during the annual Capital to Coast Cycle Challenge for Charity today. Now in its fifteenth year, the charity bike ride generated vital funds for Norwood, Bliss, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, the Down’s Syndrome Association, and Heart FM’s Have a Heart appeal.

Dozens of dads set aside their slippers and Sunday papers on Father’s Day to saddle-up for Norwood’s annual Junior Bike Ride. They were among 340 people who took part in the 10-mile off-road adventure in Elstree yesterday, helping to raise £35,000 for the Charity’s work with people with learning disabilities, and children and families in need.

A 66-year-old great-grandmother from Edgware, north London, braved intense heat earlier this month to complete her 20th marathon in aid of Norwood in just 12 years. Power-walking dynamo Flora Frank took part in the 33rd Tiberias Marathon in Israel on 7 January and crossed the finish line in just under six hours. Her success means she has now clocked up 525 miles and raised an incredible £150,000 for Norwood, which provides vital support to people with learning disabilities and children and famil

Fundraisers of all ages and abilities braved the weather and put their best foot forward in aid of Norwood on Sunday during its annual Waterside Walk.

A group of energetic fundraisers braved the heat yesterday to raise £1,000 for Norwood during the annual Community Fun Run. The 25 Norwood participants included 20-year-old Fychi Dresdner, who completed the course in a wheelchair pushed by her long-term foster mum Judy Meshulam.

What’s Green and has eight legs? The answer: One family’s marathon effort on behalf of thousands of people with learning disabilities, and children and families in need.

Four brothers will be pounding the capital’s streets on 25 April as they join 22 other runners taking part in the London Marathon in aid of Norwood. Joe, Sam, Harry and Jacob Green hope their combined efforts during the 26-mile challenge will raise more than £10,000 for the Charity.

During National ‘Get Active Week’ (20–27 June), individuals, families and communities from all over the UK are being asked to put their cycling skills to the test by taking part in the Capital to Coast Cycle Challenge for Charity, on 27 June. No matter how old, young fit or unhealthy you think you are, everyone and anyone is being encouraged to get on their bike for a worthy cause.

Dads may well want to think again if they were planning on putting their feet up this Father’s Day. Instead, they are being asked to saddle-up with the rest of the family and participate in the Norwood Junior Bike Ride on Sunday, 20 June.

A new book which showcases some of Norwood’s international bike rides over the last 10 years through a series of stunning photographs has gone on sale. Views from the Saddle: A decade of Norwood Bike Rides has been produced by regular rider Jon Gordon and is being sold in aid of the Charity, which provides vital support to people with learning disabilities and children and families in need.

It’s mid-January, you’ve already broken your New Year’s resolutions and that holiday weight just isn’t shifting. But don’t worry, help is at hand. Norwood is offering a programme of sporting challenges which will leave you feeling on top of the world – literally.

Twenty six athletes braved 26 miles of aches, pains and occasional rain to raise an incredible £100,000 for Norwood during the London Marathon on Sunday.

It was an Italian job well done for a team of 46 young cyclists who raised £45,000 for Norwood during a cycling tour of northern Italy. The inaugural YN Italian Challenge took the group on a four-day bike ride and trek through the hills of the picturesque Riccione province over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
