  • All White on the night as YN Property event raises £42,000 Norwood celebrated its ‘fab’ fourth YN Property event as tales of the Fab Four helped it raise an incredible £42,000. More than 200 young property professionals attended last night's fundraiser at the Hilton London Metropole, which was generously sponsored by Derwent London. The guest speaker was Paul White, Managing Director of Frogmore, who was interviewed by Giles Barrie, Editor of Property Week. 12 March 2010

  • Norwood parties like it’s Purim 2010 There were clowns, pirates, superheroes and pop stars galore as Norwood hosted a glitzy Purim disco on Wednesday evening. More than 100 adults who use the Charity’s services attended the bash at Edgware United Synagogue. 4 March 2010
  • It’s a family affair for Norwood as the London Marathon approaches What’s Green and has eight legs? The answer: One family’s marathon effort on behalf of thousands of people with learning disabilities, and children and families in need. Four brothers will be pounding the capital’s streets on 25 April as they join 22 other runners taking part in the London Marathon in aid of Norwood. Joe, Sam, Harry and Jacob Green hope their combined efforts during the 26-mile challenge will raise more than £10,000 for the Charity. 3 March 2010
  • Norwood appoints Shoshana Bloom as new Jewish Cultural Manager Norwood is pleased to announce that it has appointed Shoshana Bloom as its new Jewish Cultural Manager. Shoshana will have responsibility for developing, supporting and encouraging a vibrant Jewish atmosphere, both culturally and spiritually, for the people who use Norwood’s services, as well as its staff and volunteers. 16 February 2010
  • Lawrence will go for gold at European games Track and field star Lawrence Black has his eyes on medal success after being selected to represent Great Britain in the 2010 Special Olympics European Games. Lawrence lives at Ravenswood, which is Norwood’s residential community for adults with learning disabilities in Crowthorne, Berkshire. 12 February 2010
  • Latest tournament in Backgammon Series 4 raises £4,000 for Norwood The fourth and final tournament of Backgammon Series 4, sponsored by the Pears Foundation, has raised more than £4,000 for Norwood. Some 26 players pitted their wits against the roll of the dice at the event, which was held on Monday at Home House, a private members club in the West End. 9 February 2010
  • Stelios praises Norwood’s work as its annual Business Breakfast raises £75,000 Serial entrepreneur and philanthropist Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou spoke glowingly about Norwood’s employment service as he helped the Charity raise an amazing £75,000 at its annual Business Breakfast today. Sir Stelios, founder of easyJet and easyGroup, was guest of honour at the fundraising event, which was held at the elegant Chancery Court Hotel in Holborn and attracted 240 professionals from across the business spectrum. 3 February 2010

  • Flora beats heat to complete 20th Norwood marathon A 66-year-old great-grandmother from Edgware, north London, braved intense heat earlier this month to complete her 20th marathon in aid of Norwood in just 12 years. Power-walking dynamo Flora Frank took part in the 33rd Tiberias Marathon in Israel on 7 January and crossed the finish line in just under six hours. Her success means she has now clocked up 525 miles and raised an incredible £150,000 for Norwood, which provides vital support to people with learning disabilities and children and famil 19 January 2010
