President - Richard Desmond

Richard Desmond has been President of Norwood since May 2006.

Richard has been involved with Norwood for over twenty years. He is strongly committed to putting children and families first and is passionate about the causes we represent. Richard Desmond is the Chairman of Northern & Shell (Publishers of the Express Group of Newspapers and OK! Magazine).

Bernie Myers - Chairman

Bernie Myers was appointed Chairman of Norwood in December 2008. As Chairman he is the most senior lay leader at Norwood.

Bernie chairs Norwood’s Trustee Board, which works alongside Norwood’s professional staff in devising and implementing the organisation’s strategic plan. He also takes a leading role in major fundraising campaigns and represents Norwood on a number of influential cross-communal committees.

Bernie is currently a Consultant to N M Rothschild & Sons Limited and a director of Rothschilds Continuation Limited, as well as other Rothschild Group Companies. In addition, he is a director of Moss Bros Group PLC, Chairman of the Industrial Dwellings Society (1885) Limited, Vice-Chairman of the British Friends of the Hebrew University, an Associate Governor of the Hebrew University, Vice-Chairman of the Harrow Citizens Advice Bureau and a Trustee of Grief Encounter. He is also Chairman of a number of private companies.

Elaine Kerr - Chief Executive

Elaine Kerr joined Norwood in November 2011 from Chai Cancer Care, where as CEO, she led the organisation through a period of sustained growth and development, which including increasing the number of service users from 400 to over 1,450 and launching a Medical Outpatient service - an innovative national first. Previously, Elaine Kerr had over 15 years of experience in the NHS. Read more...
