Positive About Disabled People
To demonstrate our commitment we use the Positive About Disabled People symbol (right), which is awarded by the Employment Service.
As a symbol user, we guarantee an interview to all applicants with a disability whose application meets the minimum criteria for the job vacancy, and we consider them on their abilities.
What do we mean by disability?
The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 defines a disabled person as someone who has a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and adverse long-term effect on his or her ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.
Norwood is a member of the Fundraising Standards Board
Norwood, along with over 800 other member charities, have agreed to adhere to a strict set of codes and a Fundraising Promise committing to treat the public with respect, fairness, honesty and clarity in all our money raising activities. The FRSB logo offers a ‘mark of reassurance’ to look for when giving to charities in the future.
