Talya has cerebral palsy, suffers from epilepsy and is partially sighted. She was cared for by Norwood staff, while Beverley received practical advice at the Rainbow support group for parents of children with disabilities.
Talya is now 12 and attends Unity, Norwood’s recreational service for children with disabilities, where she takes part in activities and makes friends. Talya also stays at Buckets and Spades Lodge, Norwood’s respite care home for children with learning and associated physical disabilities.
Amazingly, Talya recently raised £13,000 for Norwood by taking part in a series of Challenges: a 1.5 mile run, a 1km swim, and riding 10 miles on her specially adapted tricycle in Norwood’s Junior Bike Ride. It was her way of saying thank you.
The money you raise ensures that Norwood can continue to be a safety net – providing essential support to children, families and individuals, every step of the way.
