Binoh provides specialist multi-disciplinary professional support to children with additional and/or special education needs. Binoh works with children within their own school environment or through our special education units based at the Kennedy Leigh Family Centre in Hendon, and the Somers Children and Family Centre Hackney. Binoh also provides Early Years services for the under-fives.
In addition to directly supporting children, Binoh also supports schools, professionals and families. Services include consultations, INSET (in-service training) and mentoring.
The team at Binoh are able to assess each child individually, consulting with parents, family members, carers and the child’s existing schoolteachers. A planned programme of support may then be developed.
A programme may utilise any number of our expert staff and services, including:

As an education service, we always strive to help our students make educational progress, and in line with our values, we are ambitious with setting their targets and supporting them to achieve their goals. We also place a lot of focus on the emotional well-being and levels of self-esteem that we are able to help these students to achieve.
Special Education Units
Additionally we offer specialist resources and equipment to assist teaching and learning, and have two Special Education units based at our Children & Family Centres in Hendon and Hackney. Our Transition Worker works together with schools to strengthen the relationship between Binoh’s staff and the schools.
Toddler Screening Service
In 2007 Binoh added a screening service for toddlers whose parents are unsure about their child’s speech, language, social or motor development. We also incorporated a reading recovery programme, training school staff to identify children aged 4-6 years who are struggling to read. This has improved the children’s reading age by an average of two years.
