Binoh

Any child with a special educational need can access Binoh. Binoh's aim is to enhance learning, improve self-esteem and allow children to shine. Binoh enables many children to remain in their current or chosen mainstream school.

“Binoh has changed my child from one who was really unhappy to one who can’t wait to go to school in the morning. Mendi attends Binoh twice a week, getting help with basic subjects such as English and Maths, and participating in creative activities too. Most of all, he receives encouragement.”

Binoh Service

The team at Binoh are able to assess each child individually, consulting with parents, family members, carers and the child’s existing schoolteachers. A planned programme of support may then be developed.

A programme may utilise any number of our expert staff and services, including:

Special Education Units
Additionally we offer specialist resources and equipment to assist teaching and learning, and have two Special Education units based at our Children & Family Centres in Hendon and Hackney and will soon be expanding to support the Redbridge community. Our Transition Worker works together with schools to strengthen the relationship between Binoh’s staff and the schools.

Toddler Screening Service
In 2007 Binoh added a screening service for toddlers whose parents are unsure about their child’s speech, language, social or motor development. We also incorporated a reading recovery programme, training school staff to identify children aged 4-6 years who are struggling to read. This has improved the children’s reading age by an average of two years.
