We offer residential stays from one to seven nights, in a large, friendly, superbly-equipped house with round-the-clock professional care and a range of stimulating activities. This provides an opportunity for children to have an enjoyable break from their family whilst also giving family members and regular carers a much-needed respite from the physical and emotional demands of bringing up children with disabilities.
The Buckets & Spades staff offer a warm welcome to any child and have a wealth of experience in caring for children with disabilities. Their focus is on providing safe and stimulating care, combined with new opportunities to pursue activities and develop interests.
Buckets & Spades Lodge has first-class facilities - there are toys, games and plenty of specialist equipment including a ball pool, waterbed, computer, soft play facilities, music and disco systems, and a walled garden complete with a Wendy House and garden toys. There is also a mini bus with wheelchair access, which enables staff to take children on trips to zoos, parks, farms, the seaside, cinemas, swimming pools and to live shows such as the theatre and travelling circuses.
