Norwood Adoption Society was established in 1990 to find permanent homes for Jewish children being looked after by local authorities in the UK. It was also set up to provide prospective Jewish adopters and birth families with a designated agency.
Over the years, Norwood has extended its services and now works with children and families from many different religions, cultures and ethnic groups, while continuing to provide services for Jewish children and families from around the country.

In order to meet the needs of children, NAS recruits adopters who are able to provide a child with love, understanding and stability through their childhood. Adopters need to be over 21 years, couples or single, with or without children, irrespective of their sexuality. NAS provides both a domestic and intercountry adoption service.
As part of the North London Adoption Consortium, the Agency provides adoption services to all residents in the London Boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington who wish to adopt from overseas. The agency also provides an inter country service to residents in the London Borough of Redbridge.
NAS specialises in offering thorough preparation and high levels of support to all our domestic and intercountry adopters.

Staff:
All NAS staff are qualified and experienced in adoption work. We have a core team of staff based at our Head Office in Stanmore and a team of sessional staff based out of the office. All staff receive training, supervision and support. They are supported by a medical adviser, a legal adviser and a team of administrators.
