Adult Family Support Service

This support can be emotional around issues of transition from adolescents to adult’s services, advocacy on behalf of the service user and we consult with other professionals within and outside of Norwood, to ensure they receive the best provision. We review the support on a regular basis to ensure that the person’s needs are being met.

Throughout our involvement we are working with a person centred approach.

Where we cannot help a person directly, our Adult Family Support Service will act as advocates, ensuring the user receives the right services from whoever can help.

We are also able to provide some limited financial support for individuals or families in need after carrying out an assessment.

Norwood also runs two support groups Exodus and Tachles.

The Exodus group provides support to adults with learning disabilities who would like to move-on or are planning to move away from their family.

The Tachles group provides support to parents and carers of adults with learning disabilities who are in the process of moving out from home.

We hope you find the site informative and would welcome your feedback. This helps us to ensure that we include all the information on the topics that YOU want to know about.
