At Norwood we have a range of services which support children and young people in lots of different ways, all designed to add to their wellbeing.
Our staff work together with children, young people and their parents or carers to determine their needs and provide services to support them.
As well as our counselling services, our multi–disciplinary, professional staff also provide a range of therapies. Our staff work with children through the age ranges, from babies to young adults.
These therapies include:
Stepping Up is an eight-week after school course that we run for 7 to 11-year-olds, (school years 3-6) We explore themes such as bullying, self-esteem and managing difficult feelings.
At the end of the course we invite parents to come and find out about what we have been doing and to celebrate their child's achievements with us.
The Siblings Group offers ongoing support for children who have a sibling with special educational needs or disabilities. This group aims to give children a space to reflect and to express their fears, anxieties and wishes for the future and create a community of siblings who are all facing similar situations.
This group is very creative, imaginative and playful. As trust is built, the children have become increasingly open with one another, forming new friendships.
