YN (Young Norwood) boasts seven dynamic committees which cross spectrum of professional industries including Media, Property, Law, Business / Finance / Entrepreneurs, Sport, Current Affairs and Challenges. YN events offer fantastic social and professional networking opportunities to young people aged 21-35 whilst contributing vital funds for Norwood, helping to change the lives of people with learning disabilities and children and families in need.

Many of our YN supporters have broadened their support by attending core Norwood events and taking part in Norwood’s sponsored sporting challenges.
A Brief YN History
Young Norwood was the brainchild of David Ereira, who is now Norwood’s Deputy Chairman. He was motivated to take an active role when he attended a Norwood Business Breakfast in the early ‘90s and realised that he was the youngest person in the room by some 20 years.
David formed Young Norwood (now YN) in 1993 as a part of Norwood that could be relevant to young professionals who wanted to get involved in the Charity’s good work.
Since then, YN has gone from strength to strength, establishing itself as a vital contributor to Norwood’s annual fundraising programme and holding many successful events. Through donations and fundraising activities, YN now contributes an incredible £100,000 to the Charity each year.
“When we first established YN, I am not sure that any of us could have believed how successful it would grow to be,” said David Ereira. “It is a fine example of the lay leaders of the future taking up the baton of supporting communal charities, and in particular, Norwood. It is to their enormous credit and Norwood’s benefit that YN Patrons and Friends have become an essential part of the charity’s fundraising activity.”
YN is currently co-chaired by Simon Walton and James Reichman and has seven thriving committees including YN Business, Finance and Entrepreneurs, YN Challenges, YN Lawyers, YN Media, YN Property, YN Current Affairs and YN Sport, and has become a very strong brand.
